Specs for People With Almost No Moolah

No cash but need to be able to see? The retailers listed below sell frames with basic prescription lens options  starting around $5. No joke. A full pair (frames + lenses) for just a few dollars. You won't get anything fancy at the lower end of the spectrum, but you can certainly get a wearable pair.

Zenni

If you've done even the most cursory search for glasses online, you've probably come across Zenni. With super cheap prices, a HUGE selection of frames, inexpensive lens options, $4.95 shipping, and the occasional sale, the site has a strong following. I've ordered from Zenni five times and the lens quality/prescription is always perfect. Frames vary in quality, so place close attention to what you're getting. We've had some fantastic ones and some ok ones, but no real duds. You can also find them on Facebook.

Eye Buy Direct
Around since 2005. Virtual try-on feature and frequent BOGO sales. Shipping is $5.95 (free over $99) to anywhere in the USA, and returns are accepted. On Facebook, like most.

Goggles 4 U

Virtual try-on. Standard shipping for $4.95. The site is not fancy but it has its proponents.

Glasses Shop
With a fair number of frames coming in at less than $10, this site still qualifies for the budget category. Virtual try-on, $6.95 shipping to the USA and returns accepted. On Facebook.

Firmoo
Although not as inexpensive as some sites, there are still a number of choices to be had here for less than $20. With a "first pair free" promo (limited selection, you pay shipping), free shipping over $39, virtual try-on, and an easy-to-use interface, it might be worth considering. On  Facebook.

Great Eyeglasses
Kid's glasses start at $10 and adult glasses start at $19 (including standard lenses). The add-ons add up, so I was tempted to bump this one to the next category, but they have some good options for less than $30. "A" rating with the BBB, $7.99 flat rate shipping.
